Anyone that is interested in learning to tye flies can take my class I will be teaching starting on March 9th.  I know its the same night as the GT but thats the night the township has the class space.  6 weeks of tying instruction.  Here is the link for that class

And if you would rather set up some sort of MG/Fly fishing seminar we could do one for our MG members at a local park and do some casting, talk about files ETC and do that for free.  IF anyone wants more info on these give me a call 610-630-9738

WIN A MG TC!

Bill Hixson <MGBV6T5@...>

To all club members...............FYI

Raffle tickets are now on sale for this 1949 MG TC.
photo courtesy New England MG ‘T’ Register

SPORTS CARS

Here’s your chance to win an MG TC
Is there anyone who’s immune to the charms of MG’s cheerful TC, the car that ignited America’s love affair with British sports cars? It’s just as rewarding as it ever was, which is why really nice examples cost in excess of $20,000. If you’re especially lucky, though, you might be able to put one in your garage for just $100.

The New England MG ‘T’ Register, which in spite of its name is an international organization dedicated to the maintenance, preservation and enjoyment of T-Series and vintage MGs, is raffling off this 1949 TC to raise money for its annual scholarship. The car was restored about eight years ago by Chuck Troast of New England Classic MG, and has covered about 2,000 miles since. It features dual spare tires, a luggage rack, seat belts, Alfin drum brakes, a temperature gauge and a walnut dashboard.

Tickets are $100 apiece, and no more than 400 will be sold. The winner will be drawn on May 7, 2010, at the Register’s annual Gathering of the Faithful, in Oneonta, New York. Proceeds will benefit the Knudson Churchill Scholarship Trust, a 501(c)(3) charity that awards scholarships for the study of print journalism or automotive technology. DD FORM 214 -- SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT Please share this with anyone
who's had active duty service between January 1957 to December 31, 2001
and planning for retirement. In a nutshell it boils down to this:

You qualify for a higher social security payment because of your
Military service, for active duty any time from 1957 through 2001 (the
program was done away with 1 January 2002). Up to $1200 per year of
earnings credit credited at time of application - which can make a
substantial difference in social security monthly payments upon your
retirement. You must bring your
DD-214 to the Social Security Office and you must ask for this benefit
to receive it!

Soc Sec website: http://www.ssa.gov/retire2/military.htm

This is something to put in your files for when you apply for Social
Security down the road.. It is NOT just for retirees, BUT anyone who has
served on active duty between January 1957 to December 31, 2001.

FYI - this benefit is not automatic, you must ask for it! We've all been
on active duty between 1957 and 2001 or know someone who has.

Passing on good information for all you military folks when you apply
for social security. I know this may be too early for some of you to
think about social security but, keep living and you will reach that
age.

I knew that someday that service in the USAF would come in handy. (More so than when riding in a commercial aircraft, being aware of every little mistake they make. They don't throw switch up there I don't know what they did)
Now what does putting up with my MG for 22 years get me?
