Here’s your chance to win an MG TC
Is there anyone who’s immune to the charms of MG’s cheerful TC, the car that ignited America’s love affair with British sports cars? It’s just as rewarding as it ever was, which is why really nice examples cost in excess of $20,000. If you’re especially lucky, though, you might be able to put one in your garage for just $100.

The New England MG ‘T’ Register, which in spite of its name is an international organization dedicated to the maintenance, preservation and enjoyment of T-Series and vintage MGs, is raffling off this 1949 TC to raise money for its annual scholarship. The car was restored about eight years ago by Chuck Troast of New England Classic MG, and has covered about 2,000 miles since. It features dual spare tires, a luggage rack, seat belts, Alfin drum brakes, a temperature gauge and a walnut dashboard.

Tickets are $100 apiece, and no more than 400 will be sold. The winner will be drawn on May 7, 2010, at the Register’s annual Gathering of the Faithful, in Oneonta, New York. Proceeds will benefit the Knudson Churchill Scholarship Trust, a 501(c)(3) charity that awards scholarships for the study of print journalism or automotive technology.
