Sounds like fun and interesting day in Lancaster County. Lillian and I will plan to attend.

Dear Club
Members, Date: Wed, 20 May 2009
16:07:51 -0500 Robert: It was a pleasure meeting you and your friends at Vinny’s tonight. I have sent you information on my Spring Tour below. On further reflection, I would prefer you NOT send it along to your full club membership. I would like to keep the tour manageable. So, please send it to the two other fellows I met tonight and maybe a couple more MG members who live in the vicinity. I appreciate your cooperation.
I will be looking for some indication that you will join us at least a few days before June 7. And I send frequent reminders starting this weekend. I sure hope you will be able to attend. It is a very nice group of people and an eclectic mix of cars. I will send a second e-mail with some pictures of last Fall’s tour (we had a tour of Luken’s Steel offices and historic district, a private car collection near Strasburg, and visit to the Railroad Museum and Strasburg Railroad).
Please contact me with any questions. I look forward to seeing you!

Club Members: It must be Spring, because we are gearing up for our next tour. The date is Sunday, June 7, 2009.
This tour will, like the last one, venture in to Lancaster County. We have three great venues to visit as we travel the scenic rolling hills and Amish farms of the county. Here they are:
Private car collection of Richard Sills: Richard is a dedicated collector and friend. His specialty is low mileage, original, unrestored GM cars (mostly Cadillacs) of the 60’s and 70’s. He knows all the stories behind these preserved vehicles and is eager to share them with us. The jewel in the collection is a 1960 Buick Electra 225 convertible that is one-of-a-kind designed by the GM Styling Studio for the personal use of Harlow Curtice, President of GM. Richard’s collection is housed just west of the city of Lancaster.
Wheatland: President James Buchanan’s home and estate: I have
prevailed upon the Lancaster County Historical Society to open up especially
for us on that Sunday for a private guided tour. See www.wheatland.
National Watch and Clock Museum,
Columbia, PA
(20 minutes west of Lancaster): The museum is recognized as the largest and most
comprehensive horological collection in North America.
The Museum collection is international in scope and covers a wide variety of
clocks, watches, tools, and other time-related items. The largest collection is
of nineteenth-century American clocks and watches. However, additional
collections include early English tallcase clocks, Asian timepieces from Japan and China,
and timekeeping devices from Germany,
France, the Netherlands, and Russia. Chronologically, the
exhibits take you on a tour through the entire history of timekeeping
technology from early non-mechanical devices to today's atomic and radio-
controlled clocks. See www.nawcc.org for a
preview (click on Museum/Library) More details of our travels, entrance fees and meal stops will be coming in the next few weeks. But, for planning purposes, we head out at 9:00 am and usually end around 3:00 pm. If you know now that you will be joining us, please let me know. Otherwise, you have ample time to re-schedule less entertaining events or think up excuses for the relatives you are supposed to visit on that day. We always have a good turnout of cars and great people, so don’t miss this opportunity. It is why we acquire and maintain our cars ….to drive and enjoy them in good company. What could be better?
